Overview:
Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc is seeking an experienced professional to oversee its casualty insurance initiatives. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about tackling complex challenges.

Position Summary:
This leadership position is accountable for managing both domestic and international casualty insurance programs, which encompass a variety of coverages such as Automobile Liability, Commercial General Liability, Errors and Omissions Liability, Cyber Liability, and Workers' Compensation. Additionally, the role involves providing comprehensive risk management support to various business sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties of this role include:

  • Developing, implementing, and managing casualty and property-loss insurance programs.
  • Overseeing insurance renewals, including preparation of applications, underwriting submissions, and renewal presentations.
  • Ensuring compliance with negotiated policy terms and preparing necessary documentation for business units.
  • Managing claims reporting and adjustments, ensuring adherence to all legal and policy requirements.
  • Establishing performance standards for claims handling and negotiating contracts with service providers.

Risk Management Support:
In addition to the above, the role will provide risk management support by:

  • Identifying risks through contract reviews and developing effective risk management strategies.
  • Supporting M&A activities as needed.
  • Responding to ongoing risk management service requests from business units.
  • Assisting in the preparation of filings for necessary designations and indemnifications.
  • Conducting analyses to determine appropriate loss protection measures.

Qualifications:
Interested candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate risk management or related fields.
  • Familiarity with fundamental Property/Casualty insurance concepts.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen.
  • Experience in financial modeling for problem-solving.

Preferred Skills:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • 15 years of experience in corporate risk management or insurance brokerage.
  • Relevant degrees and certifications such as ARM or CPCU.
  • Technical expertise in Casualty insurance and Workers' Compensation.
  • Understanding of U.S. Government contracting practices.
  • Effective project management and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
