Job Summary

The Financial Risk Management Leader will support the Director, Global Treasury in the area of financial risk management analysis, implementation of risk mitigation strategies, and deal execution. In addition, the Manager will assist in coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders to support both financial risk management and global cash management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Key contributor in the execution and management of Marriott's FX and interest rate hedging program, including:
    • Monitoring and analyzing Marriott's FX and interest rate risks
    • Executing $6B in annual FX spot and derivative trades and coordinating FX and interest rate hedge settlements
    • Hedge effectiveness testing
    • Preparing monthly reports of outstanding derivatives and cash flow hedge allocations
  • Prepare Quarterly Hedge Committee presentations and Annual Risk Management Plan and interfacing with key Treasury stakeholders to identify and quantify FX risks.
  • Support FX and interest rate forecasts for forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning purposes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with partner banks to ensure efficient trading and settlement processes; and to collaborate on new risk management strategies.
  • Support the assessment of counterparty credit risk as needed.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders in executing complex cross-border cash movements to mobilize excess foreign cash and fund working capital needs.
  • Ensure Marriott complies with applicable requirements.
  • Assist in foreign exchange and international cash management issues through effective collaboration with internal and external resources.
  • Support cash management team in daily corporate cash management activities including preparing the company's domestic cash position, monitoring and mobilizing global cash balances, managing short-term borrowings and investments, and funding global working capital needs monitoring, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
Requirements
  • Five years of progressive financial management experience preferred including at least three years in Global Treasury or International Banking with focus on international capital markets and FX markets.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of capital markets, particularly FX and interest rate derivatives preferred.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and financial modeling preferred.
  • Exposure to international accounting or foreign currency accounting strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cash management and banking software preferred.
  • Experience with derivatives valuation models preferred.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills; ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner appropriate for senior management decision-making; uses data and a cogent problem-solving methodology in decision making and impact assessment.
  • Results oriented; delivers results under difficult conditions and demonstrates balanced judgment under pressure; able to assess, plan and get 'the right priorities' done, on time and budget, at high quality levels; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong overall communication skills: ability to communicate with various levels of the organization and with outside service providers.
Education and Professional Certification
  • Baccalaureate degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CTP/CCM preferred
  • MBA/MPA preferred
