Job Overview

The Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis (IABA) is seeking Behavior Support Companions to join our mission of providing exceptional care.

Comprehensive Paid Training Provided

As a Behavior Support Companion, you will form meaningful connections with the individuals and families you assist. Your role will involve delivering compassionate, non-medical support to children with developmental challenges and special needs.

Your responsibilities will include offering primary caregivers a chance to take breaks from their daily responsibilities, while also creating a more relaxed home environment for clients and their families. You will work in various community settings, providing essential support to families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with families
  • Engage clients through enjoyable activities
  • Assist with personal care and daily living needs
  • Facilitate socialization activities
  • Maintain accurate records for service recipients

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Understanding of developmental disabilities
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts based on client needs

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Operational vehicle
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to assist clients with physical mobility
  • Willingness to engage in recreational activities

Training Expectations:

New hires will participate in approximately 40 hours of required training within the first three months, which includes competency-based and on-the-job training.

Work Schedule:

Shifts available Monday through Friday after 1 PM, and weekends from 9 AM to 10 PM.
