Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Advocate

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. To be considered, applicants must follow the directions in the How to Apply section of this flyer. Key Responsibilities- Guide employees on issues related to a sexual assault prevention and response program.
- Serve as point of contact for senior management, faculty, or staff regarding sexual assault response programs.
- Complete risk assessments and documentation for case review.
- Develop reports, information papers, talking points, briefing packages, or other Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) program information for senior leaders.
- Provide victim advocacy services and crisis intervention support for adult victims of sexual assault.
- Perform complex assessments using trauma-informed approaches for reports of sexual assault.
- Implement risk screening protocols and provide assistance to victims in securing treatment requested by the victims.
- Inform victims of resources available to report instances of sexual assault and provide victim-tailored comprehensive referrals of resources to include victim advocacy, legal, and medical/mental healthcare.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Providing sexual assault advocacy services.
- Developing and implementing crisis plans of action and sexual assault assistance plans.
- Assisting with developing and coordinating command SAPR prevention and awareness campaigns or events.
- Conducting education and training sexual assault workshops/seminars.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Applicants must meet the following basic/positive education qualification requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)
Applicants must possess:
- Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
- OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
- OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required specialized experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
- GS-11 Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position OR Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree. OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
- GS-09 Successful completion of a Master's Degree or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position OR Successful completion of 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
- OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
As a condition of employment, incumbent must be able to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays, in an on-call or rotational basis.
The on-call or rational status requires varied work hours, to include a requirement to be available 24/7, to respond to the following, but not limited to: calls received via the helpline, from military/civilian law enforcement, from treatment facilities or local hospitals
