Position Overview:

The Vice President of Global Medical Affairs in Immunology will oversee the Dermatology and Rheumatology medical teams within the Global Medical Affairs framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to enhance Johnson & Johnson's esteemed Dermatology and Rheumatology portfolios, aiming for significant patient outcomes.
  2. Offer strategic guidance in collaboration with internal partners, including R&D, medical affairs teams, and commercial stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  3. Develop a strategic portfolio approach for Dermatology and Rheumatology.
  4. Influence clinical development for lifecycle and new products by gathering insights from global stakeholders.

Key Deliverables:

  1. Create robust Medical Affairs Strategies for all Dermatology and Rheumatology initiatives to facilitate the medical adoption of pioneering therapies.
  2. Design Medical Launch Plans that encompass strategies for external scientific engagement.
  3. Ensure the successful execution of a comprehensive Worldwide Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (WWIEGP), including post-approval clinical trial strategies.
  4. Oversee the implementation of data dissemination plans and innovative communication methods.

External Engagement:

  1. Establish and nurture strategic relationships with leading external experts to enhance advocacy aligned with therapeutic area strategies.
  2. Provide medical leadership in engagements with external stakeholders, including health authorities and advisory boards.
  3. Enhance the external reputation of the Immunology organization as credible experts and essential partners.

Execution:

  1. Deliver leadership and scientific insights for key medical affairs outputs, including training modules and scientific symposia.
  2. Support local affiliates in executing pre-launch and launch strategies.
  3. Conduct all business activities in compliance with applicable laws and internal guidelines.

Leadership:

  1. Guide the Dermatology and Rheumatology teams to foster a high-performing culture of innovation and collaboration.
  2. Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and performance management to team members while implementing talent strategies across medical affairs.
  3. Steer the Global Medical Affairs teams through periods of growth and transformation.

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree (MD/DO, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) is required.
  2. Clinical credentials such as residency training or board certification are strongly preferred.
  3. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  4. At least 3-5 years of experience in people management is necessary.
  5. Experience in the Immunology therapeutic area is highly desirable.
  6. Willingness to travel up to 20% is required.
