Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Overview:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a skilled Modeling and Simulation Engineer to contribute to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground System Development (GMN) Project Office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the GMN System Engineering Lead and Deputy by facilitating collaboration with the GMD Industry M&S team.
  • Perform technical evaluations of GMD M&S strategies, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and timelines.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to establish M&S deadlines, monitor the progress of M&S deliverables, and create comprehensive technical reports and presentations to communicate M&S progress.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle and the role of M&S in the engineering process to investigate, analyze, and address program challenges, proposing solutions that align with GMD strategic objectives.
  • Generate and deliver technical reports and presentations that effectively communicate complex concepts, status updates, analyses, and recommendations in a clear and organized manner.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a STEM field (Computer Science or Engineering) is required.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Models and Simulations and Systems Engineering is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Life Cycle is necessary.
  • Experience in integrating models and simulations into a cohesive system-of-systems simulation is required.
  • Ability to work independently and lead teams in problem analysis and resolution is crucial.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Capability to develop and present reports and presentations to senior management is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word, is necessary.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach is expected.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with MDA processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering is a plus.
Security Clearance:
  • An Active DoD Secret security clearance is mandatory.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal travel (less than 10%) is anticipated.
  • Candidates may need to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials for access to secure federal facilities.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in an office setting.
  • Capable of remaining in a stationary position for extended periods and performing light work, including moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Compensation: $140,000 - $184,400 annually
