This role is crucial in advancing the objectives of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Ground System Development (GMN) Project Office. Your proficiency will be instrumental in enhancing our modeling and simulation initiatives, ensuring the seamless integration and application of these methodologies within system engineering frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

As a vital contributor, you will assist the GMN System Engineering Lead and Deputy by fostering collaboration with the GMD Industry M&S team. Your duties will encompass conducting thorough technical evaluations of GMD M&S strategies and monitoring M&S Objective Evidence to confirm that technical specifications and milestones are achieved. Key tasks include:

  • Engaging with various stakeholders to ascertain M&S requirement timelines.
  • Overseeing the progress of M&S deliverables.
  • Compiling and presenting technical documentation and briefings to effectively communicate M&S progress.
Utilizing your extensive understanding of the system engineering life cycle, you will investigate, analyze, and evaluate program challenges, proposing solutions that align with GMD strategic objectives. Furthermore, you will create and deliver technical reports and presentations that articulate complex concepts, analyses, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.

Work Environment:

This position requires full-time onsite presence and involves limited travel.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Master's Degree in a STEM discipline (Computer Science or Engineering).
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Models and Simulations and Systems Engineering.
  • Thorough comprehension of the System Engineering Life Cycle.
  • Experience in integrating models and simulations into cohesive, system-of-systems simulations.
  • Possession of an Active Secret level clearance.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of MDA processes and Model-Based System Engineering.
  • Capability to prepare documentation for Program Reviews and Engineering Review Boards (ERB).
