Executive Culinary Assistant

We are currently looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our team at CareerNation. This role is based in the 5 NYC boroughs and involves working on various events that last between 4-8 hours.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the overall success of the food program and overseeing culinary functions. This includes coordinating with the marketing and culinary team to roll out new programs, managing cost controls, and ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various food items during events.
- Contribute to planning and creating menus that meet client expectations.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Supervise back-of-house associates and provide guidance on food preparation and cooking techniques.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in the culinary industry, including 1 year in a management role.
- Prior experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or related food service operations.
- Familiarity with food trends, production, sanitation, safety, cost controls, and presentation.
- Strong leadership, training, and coaching skills.
- ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel.
Salary Information:
$70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
