Our client, a prominent entity in the music publishing sector, is in search of an Administrative Associate for Business Affairs to enhance their operational team.
Role Summary:
This is a permanent role offering a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison to support the Senior Director of Business Affairs Administration in managing business and legal affairs contract administration for various publishing teams across the U.S.
- Oversee contract administration for a designated segment of the U.S. publishing operations:
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure effective contract management and compliance with deliverables, including registration and royalty processing.
- Draft concise contract summaries.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to address songwriter client inquiries, partnering with A&R, Copyright, Royalty, Client Services, and Finance.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of reports and tracking systems to monitor new agreements, upcoming options, expirations, delivery obligations, advance triggering events, recoupment positions, and other significant terms.
- Prepare and manage invoices related to contractual payments for publishing agreements.
- Maintain organized publishing files and records in line with the company's document management policies, contributing to various technology initiatives.
- Provide additional support to the Publishing Business & Legal Affairs department as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the music publishing industry, ideally in rights management.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of simplifying complex contractual language.
- Proactive, adaptable, and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Meticulous attention to detail and self-motivated, with the ability to convert ambiguity into actionable strategies.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Adobe Acrobat PRO, Outlook, and cloud-based document management systems. Familiarity with JIRA and Salesforce is advantageous.
