Position Overview:
The Chief Security Operations Officer at Acrisure Arena will play a pivotal role in ensuring a secure environment by supervising all security functions within the venue. This position will engage in the formulation and implementation of standard operating procedures while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Compensation:
This role offers an annual salary range of $110,000 to $120,000, along with performance-based bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and articulate the operational and strategic connections across various segments of the organization.
  • Develop, implement, and assess departmental objectives and action plans that align with Acrisure Arena's mission and strategic goals.
  • Execute responsibilities efficiently through effective organization, prioritization, delegation, and time management.
  • Utilize technical expertise to ensure optimal performance, compiling and submitting necessary records and reports reflecting departmental activities.
  • Prepare and monitor the progress of an annual list of departmental objectives.
  • Propose enhancements or expansions of services with detailed analysis and justification.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards from governing and accrediting bodies.
  • Assist in the creation and coordination of organization-wide security initiatives, providing documentation in the form of operational manuals.
  • Establish and uphold compliance with OVG and Acrisure Arena policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives to maintain high security standards for patrons, visitors, and employees.
  • Foster strong relationships with external agencies, including local, state, and federal law enforcement.
  • Interpret and enforce updated security regulations relevant to Acrisure Arena.
  • Consistently apply security regulations throughout Acrisure Arena.
  • Assess staff performance and provide constructive feedback in line with the Acrisure Arena Performance Management Program.
  • Guide security personnel in their roles, reviewing and updating emergency preparedness protocols.
  • Instruct security staff to assist patrons, visitors, and employees courteously and positively.
  • Direct departmental goals and activities in alignment with sound security and management principles.
  • Identify needs, allocate resources, and resolve staffing, space, equipment, and supply issues.
  • Plan, develop, and manage the departmental budget and capital equipment expenditures.
  • Monitor and implement strategies to enhance financial performance, including managing expenses and revenues.
  • Provide insights to the department head regarding the annual budget and its justification.
  • Communicate changes to regulatory standards to all personnel.
  • Initiate improvements in security services through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assume responsibility for personal professional development and the integration of acquired knowledge into practice.
  • Support employees in developing their professional and technical skills.
  • Maintain morale and promote harmony within departments and the organization.
  • Offer guidance to supervisory staff in maintaining security services and addressing special issues.
  • Represent the Security Department at required functions.
  • Ensure all building security systems are operational during events and non-event periods.
  • Act as the escalation point for security inquiries and concerns during events.
  • Collaborate with the Events department to create security-related event estimates.
  • Maintain the venue's reputation for an excellent entertainment experience by balancing rule enforcement with guest safety.
  • Develop comprehensive maps for various functionalities, including staff placement and access control.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and oversee medical and first aid facilities.
  • Manage contracted security personnel for events.
  • Make immediate decisions and communicate effectively during emergencies.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment and work extended hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least six years of progressive security experience, including managerial roles.
  • Experience in security management within stadiums, arenas, or similar venues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in team management, coaching, and development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Sports Security Professional (CSSP) are preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California State Driver's License.

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal travel may be required, potentially involving air travel and overnight stays.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and extensive walking throughout the venue.
