Job Overview:
The Safety and Security Specialist plays a crucial role in safeguarding the premises and ensuring the well-being of all individuals on site. This position involves implementing various strategies to deter theft, vandalism, and property damage.
Key responsibilities include conducting regular patrols, maintaining accurate logs of personnel and visitors, overseeing incoming shipments, and providing assistance to guests with inquiries and directions.
This role is vital in protecting the property and its occupants from fire hazards and other safety concerns, responding promptly to emergencies, and ensuring the security of parking areas.
A vigilant and proactive approach is essential for success in this position.Key Responsibilities:
Respond to alarms and emergency situations as they arise.
Conduct routine inspections to identify irregularities and evaluate safety equipment.
Welcome guests and residents, offering information about the facility and its surroundings.
Monitor and secure the premises to prevent theft, property damage, and safety breaches.
Engage in fire prevention and safety maintenance activities, as well as traffic enforcement.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with local and state safety regulations.
Understanding of conflict resolution methods.
Exceptional customer service abilities.
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team member.
Capability to interpret and execute verbal and written instructions.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
0 - 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
Certifications:
Guard Card is a requirement.
PPO#17681.
Work Environment:
This role involves a non-traditional office setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, and communication, both indoors and outdoors.
Availability for overtime may be necessary (on-call, weekends, emergency situations, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach overhead, utilize hands and fingers for data entry, and communicate effectively to gather and relay information.
The employee may also need to sit for extended periods to process information and complete data entry tasks.Compensation:
$19.00 per hour.
