Department Focus:

The Plasma Control Technologies division is Comet's most extensive segment, recognized globally for its expertise in designing and manufacturing high-performance Vacuum Capacitors, RF Matches, and RF Generators tailored for the semiconductor sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Comet's dynamic Product Development Team by constructing, configuring, calibrating, and maintaining test stations for the evaluation and design validation of High-Power RF Matching Systems and associated components, including sensors and electromechanical control systems.
  • Calibrate and assess new matching prototypes to meet client specifications, collaborating closely with R&D design engineers.
  • Implement and troubleshoot automated testing procedures for advanced product performance characterization and Design Validation Testing (DVT) of RF Matching Networks.
  • Engage with R&D Design Engineers to evaluate performance metrics, specifications, and related testing protocols for new RF systems and modules, ensuring thorough documentation of outcomes.
  • Participate in the continuous enhancement of our testing methodologies and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an Engineering Technician in product development and/or design validation.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with RF systems and modules, with a preference for kW power level expertise.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with the setup and operation of sophisticated RF testing equipment, including VNA, power meters, spectrum analyzers, RF power generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Basic knowledge of analog electronic components and their operational principles is essential.
  • Experience with scripting tools for automating design validation tests (LabView/Python) is highly advantageous.
  • Possess a curious and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical system issues.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced setting.
