Position Overview:

The selected candidate for the RF SiP Module Design Engineer role will have the flexibility to work from various Skyworks locations. We are looking for engineering professionals with a strong background in designing RF/Microwave System in Package products that incorporate RFICs, LNAs, Acoustic Filters, and PAs. As a member of the RF SiP Module Design Team, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge Power Amplifiers, RF switches, LNAs, and front-end modules tailored for Automotive and IoT applications, facilitating the industry's shift to next-generation data highways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all stages of product development, encompassing product definition, architecture, system budgeting, transistor-level circuit design, Multi Chip Module design, layout supervision, lab debugging, and production support.
  • Lead laboratory experiments to diagnose RF/functionality-related performance challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of EM Design Engineers, Lab Technicians, Validation/Optimization Engineers, Test Engineers, and Package Engineers to address intricate cellular RF front-end issues.
  • Prepare documentation for prototype assembly, including Bill of Materials (BOM) and configuration matrices.
  • Conduct lab tests and analyze results for RF Front End modules.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of RF principles, including impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth, and stability.
  • Proficient in circuit simulation tools such as Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF and 2.5/3D EM tools like Momentum, EMX, or HFSS.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments, including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, RF Probe Stations, Noise Figure Analyzers, and Load-pull Tuners.
  • Strong laboratory skills in data collection, analysis, debugging, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • A proactive team player with a keen desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with logical reasoning abilities to break down complex problems, prioritize tasks, report progress, and adhere to schedules.
  • Present lab findings and root cause analyses to a broader audience, striving for optimal performance of RF Front End Modules.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 6 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of device and process technologies, module components, including Power Amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers, RF Switches, Couplers, Filters, and Multi-chip Modules.
  • Knowledge of acoustic filters such as SAW and BAW filters.
  • Exposure to system architecture, circuit topology, and multi-technology circuit floorplans.
  • Familiarity with RF systems and wireless standards, including 3GPP cellular 2/3/4/5G/6G, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and more.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
