Position Overview:
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist applies clinical expertise to address respiratory care challenges. Working collaboratively within a healthcare team, this role involves executing a variety of procedures tailored to meet the respiratory needs of patients across different age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough evaluations to identify respiratory care requirements and implement necessary adjustments in line with established protocols.
2. Monitor treatment effectiveness and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
3. Perform advanced therapeutic interventions for patients needing respiratory support, ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures.
4. Complete mandatory training and competency assessments within specified timeframes to uphold professional standards.
5. Ensure timely and precise completion of documentation and billing processes.
6. Facilitate patient transitions to appropriate follow-up services and provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory health.
7. Mentor and train fellow respiratory care professionals, nursing staff, and students on patient care and respiratory service protocols.
Qualifications:
- Required: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, or related clinical education.
- Required Licenses: State of Michigan Respiratory Therapist License, National Board for Respiratory Care Certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
