Legislative Affairs Coordinator

The Legislative Affairs Coordinator will operate under the guidance of the Chief Policy Counsel at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition Inc. This position entails tracking legislative developments, conducting policy evaluations, and engaging member organizations in advocacy initiatives. The successful candidate will possess the capability to distill complex information into actionable strategies and convey technical ideas to varied audiences.
Work Environment
This role is situated in a hybrid work setting, allowing for flexibility while collaborating closely with the Chief Policy Counsel to promote the organization's federal objectives and involve member organizations in advocacy efforts at the national level.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote the federal legislative and regulatory priorities of the organization
- Engage member organizations in advocacy campaigns
- Conduct research and prepare materials for advocacy discussions
- Draft policy briefs and articles for general audiences
- Organize Capitol Hill advocacy events
- Provide support for state and local advocacy initiatives
- Develop resources for campaign strategies
- Assist in the recruitment of member organizations
- Complete assignments as directed by the Chief Policy Counsel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years in political advocacy
- Ability to represent the organization in discussions with officials
- Strong communication abilities
- Proficiency in research methodologies and analytical tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
- Willingness to travel as necessary
