Position Overview

Aptive Resources is in search of a skilled Legislative Affairs Consultant to assist federal clients within the technology sector. This role involves supporting government personnel responsible for overseeing Congressional and other oversight entities, facilitating the monitoring, assignment, coordination, and tracking of incoming and ongoing requests directed to the Congressional Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Congressional cycles and processes, providing analysis on significant legislation, with a preference for experience related to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and refine written correspondence while ensuring adherence to proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders outside the immediate work unit, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in utilizing qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to evaluate operational effectiveness.
  • Ability to leverage data to present program status and recommend enhancements to business processes.
  • Experience in drafting notes, implementation plans, and adhering to strict timelines.
  • Responsible for effective communication with various stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to develop reports and briefings.
