Position Summary: The Vice President of Technology and Security will lead and oversee the strategic management of the Information Technology and Security divisions. This role includes setting and implementing IT and Security objectives, policies, and procedures; assessing the technological requirements and staffing needs of the department; and managing the cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Leadership:

  • Recruit, mentor, and supervise the IT support team.
  • Establish performance metrics and evaluate staff against these standards.
  • Provide timely feedback and recognition for employee performance.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements to enhance the Association's operations.
  • Ensure compliance with IT regulations and assess their implications for the organization.
  • Act as the control owner for Internal Controls over Financial Reporting related to IT and security.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Participate in Board meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
  • Assist in developing the annual business strategy for the Association.

Budget Oversight:

  • Prepare the annual IT budget, considering special projects and necessary technologies, and present it to the COO/CFO.
  • Justify technology purchases as required.
  • Monitor financial performance against the budget throughout the year.

Vendor Management:

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external service providers.
  • Provide insights on system performance and functionality to vendors.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology vendors based on cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Negotiate contracts and coordinate vendor services.

Data Security and Privacy:

  • Safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the Association's and clients' data.
  • Lead the development of a robust security and privacy program.
  • Oversee the implementation of security policies, risk management, and incident response strategies.
  • Drive organizational training initiatives to enhance security awareness and preparedness.

Project Management:

  • Identify and prioritize IT projects and guide team members in their execution.
  • Provide vision and leadership for IT initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce technology policies and procedures.

User Support:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and technical support to staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues.
  • Oversee routine hardware and software maintenance.

Hardware and Software Oversight:

  • Manage the development and support of all IT hardware and software.
  • Authorize hardware and software deployments.
  • Determine procurement needs for IT assets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in technology and security management.
  • Proven supervisory experience is essential.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISM, CRISC, or CISA are advantageous.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
  • Expertise in IT Service Management frameworks, particularly ITIL.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of security controls and network security.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and storage systems.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement long-term business strategies.
