Geotechnical/Construction Services Staff Engineer

RCG Moody International Limited c/- Intertek is seeking a Geotechnical/Construction Services Staff Engineer to enhance our Building & Construction division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a range of geotechnical and construction service tasks, including field logging and laboratory analysis.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports.
  • Evaluate project plans and specifications developed by others.
  • Participate in client site meetings.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and project teams.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific testing as required.
  • Work in both field and laboratory settings regularly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited institution is essential.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in California is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as GeoStudio, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, SLIDE, Settle3, and MSEW is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal abilities are required.
  • Capability to interpret and understand work plans is necessary.
  • Willingness to work off-shift and overtime as required.
  • Potential travel of up to 10% may be necessary.
  • A valid Driver's License and a reliable driving record are required.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull weights between 30 to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discern sounds.
  • Occasional kneeling and squatting may be required.
  • Capability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional climbing may be necessary.
