Type 1 Refrigeration Certification Required This is an entry-level skilled role focused on training and professional development. The position entails the installation, setup, repair, and continuous maintenance of vending, cooling, and fountain systems at client locations. Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues and exercising judgment to determine the most effective repair or replacement methods. The technician operates independently and engages frequently with customers. Successful completion of Pepsi Pro certification is mandatory within the designated timeframe.


Physical demands may include lifting, carrying, pulling, and/or moving items weighing between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. The role requires kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, and bending during repairs, often in confined spaces.

The position may also involve relocating vending machines of significant weight.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on marketing equipment
  • Manage product unloading and reloading as needed
  • Provide customers with education on basic equipment repair and maintenance procedures
  • Install equipment by creating necessary connections for dispensing units, including water and gas supply, and drainage for ice units. For box syrup, construct racks and connect lines
  • Fill installed equipment and adjust to the correct mixture
  • Travel to locations, assess situations, and perform required work (may include plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and carpentry tasks)
  • Gather accurate and complete information regarding equipment and customers
  • Replace old components with new parts
  • Maintain an inventory of parts on the service vehicle
  • Foster positive relationships with contacts during service calls
  • Complete documentation on an electronic pad after each service call
  • Transport miscellaneous items (e.g., compressors for repair/scrap, recyclable materials, etc.)
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and procedures
  • Follow all driving rules and regulations while operating the company vehicle
  • Complete all required training modules (Pepsi Pro training)
  • Develop competence and skills in diagnosing and repairing beverage industry equipment
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be 18 years or older* 21 years or older if a CDL is required* CDL license with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)Note: In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.* Pass DOT Physical and DOT Road-test if required
  • Comply with DOT Regulations

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
* Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., understanding mechanical concepts, troubleshooting and repairing appliances, performing basic household repairs in plumbing, circuits, fuses, and electrical components, operating hand tools and power tools, etc.)* Customer service experience (e.g., resolving customer issues, ensuring effective communication with store managers, following up on customer requests, etc.)* Familiarity with basic refrigeration systems (e.g., understanding refrigeration cycles, Freon, compressors, evaporators, condensers, etc.)* Knowledge of electrical systems (e.g., understanding flow, wiring, outlets, etc.)* Plumbing experience (e.g., working with drains, water supply, ice makers, shut-off valves, sweating copper, filtration systems, etc.)* Equipment installation experience (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration, auto, copiers, fountain products, etc.)
