Type 1 Refrigeration Certification Required This is an entry-level skilled role focusing on training and skill enhancement. The position entails the installation, setup, repair, and continuous maintenance of vending, cooling, and fountain equipment at client locations. Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues and exercising judgment to determine the most effective repair or replacement methods. The role requires independent work and frequent interaction with customers. Successful candidates must complete Pepsi Pro certification within the designated timeframe.
Physical demands may include lifting, carrying, pulling, and/or moving items weighing between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. The position may also involve kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, and bending while performing repairs, often in confined spaces.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on marketing equipment
- Unload and reload products as needed
- Instruct customers on basic equipment repair and maintenance procedures
- Install equipment by creating necessary openings and routing lines to connect products to dispensing units, including connecting water and gas supplies and locating drains for ice units. For box syrup, construct racks and connect lines
- Fill installed equipment and adjust to the correct mixture
- Travel to locations, assess situations, and perform required work (may include plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and carpentry tasks)
- Gather accurate and complete information regarding equipment and customers
- Remove outdated parts and replace them with new components
- Maintain an inventory of parts on the service vehicle
- Build positive relationships with contacts during service calls
- Complete documentation on an electronic pad after each call
- Transport miscellaneous items (e.g., compressors for repair/scrap, cardboard for recycling, etc.)
- Adhere to all safety regulations, requirements, and processes
- Follow all driving rules and regulations while operating a company vehicle
- Complete all required training modules for the job role (Pepsi Pro training)
- Develop competence and skills in diagnosing and repairing beverage industry equipment
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be 18 years or older* 21 years or older if a CDL is required* CDL license with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)Note: In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.* Pass DOT Physical and DOT Road-test if required
- Comply with DOT Regulations
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
* Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., understanding mechanical concepts, troubleshooting and repairing appliances, performing basic household repairs in plumbing, circuits, fuses, and electrical components, operating hand tools and power tools, etc.)* Customer service experience (e.g., resolving customer issues, ensuring effective communication with store managers, following up on customer requests, etc.)* Familiarity with basic refrigeration systems (e.g., understanding refrigeration cycles, Freon, compressors, evaporators, condensers, etc.)* Knowledge of electrical systems (e.g., understanding flow, wiring, outlets, etc.)* Experience with plumbing (e.g., working with drains, water supply, ice makers, shut-off valves, sweating copper, filtration systems, etc.)* Equipment installation experience (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration, auto, copiers, fountain products, etc.)
