About the Role

HomeSafe Alliance is in search of a highly qualified and driven Senior Accountant to support the Accounting Manager in various facets of General Accounting, Payroll and Employee Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Accounts Payable.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate recording of journal entries within your designated area of responsibility.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely and thorough reconciliations with appropriate explanations for any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the monthly closing process by preparing or approving month-end journal entries and addressing potential issues while communicating any possible delays related to the close.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports and analyses for internal and external auditors, responding to periodic information requests.
  • Maintain sufficient documentation to support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and assessments.
  • Identify technological enhancements, Excel shortcuts, and other improvements to promote best practices in financial processes across the business unit.
  • Ensure adherence to HomeSafe accounting policies and business practices.
  • Support the Transaction Services department with transaction recording.
  • Perform various ad-hoc analyses and additional tasks as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA regulations.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual obligations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proactive self-starter, expected to take initiative in researching issues and proposing solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication, presentation, verbal, and written skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others, both within the team and across functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with Costpoint and EPM is preferred.

This position is fully remote, with HomeSafe providing the necessary equipment. Employees must have access to high-speed internet.
