Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is a key member of our finance team, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and verify vendor invoices for payment
  • Reconcile payments with vendor accounts receivable contacts
  • Communicate effectively with department and vendor contacts
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions
  • Assist with monthly closings and annual audits
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in business or related field
  • 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with financial software packages
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Work Environment

This role is based in Stony Brook, NY and requires a full-time schedule. The physical demands of this role are largely sedentary, with occasional need to exchange information with colleagues and vendors.
