Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia's School of Medicine is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to provide support to the Developmental Genomics Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing administrative operations, coordinating events, scheduling meetings, and maintaining electronic files.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Operations: Organize Center and Lab events, arrange business travel, and schedule meetings.
  • Financial Management: Accurately review and approve monthly financial reconciliation statements and create quarterly spending reports.
  • Grant Support: Provide administrative document maintenance, grant proposal and progress report aid, and fiscal and project communication with award collaborators.
  • Communication and Liaison: Act as a liaison with DGC collaborators, assist in relationship building with clinical faculty, and maintain all career-related documents for assigned faculty.
  • Event Planning: Plan all events, programs, and activities of the DGC including reservations, catering, and travel arrangements.
  • Web Management: Maintain and update DGC and Lab websites and Twitter account.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: 3 years of external experience or 1 year of internal HR experience
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and UVA programs.
