About the Role

This position plays a vital role in ensuring seamless operations within our Ophthalmology Clinic. As an Ambulatory Program Assistant Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and clinical assistance to healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with administrative duties and perform clinical functions, such as vital signs, medication review, and pending medication refills.
  • Support clinic functions by retrieving medical records, covering Epic InBaskets, obtaining prior authorizations, and assisting with procedures.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team and providers to collect patient data according to practice standards and institutional policy.
  • Prioritize patient care activities considering patient and interdisciplinary team needs.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs as directed by provider.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing patient/family teaching plans based on identified health education needs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association.
  • OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Requirement: Virginia Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic required.
Compensation:

$23.19 - $35.14 per hour.
