Position Overview:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to deliver exceptional healthcare services to our student population. This role involves diagnosing and treating patients while also providing essential medical support. The physician will engage in psychological and counseling services aimed at preventive and developmental care through direct interaction with patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medical evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, and therapies for a diverse patient base.
  • Order and analyze diagnostic tests.
  • Execute minor surgical procedures and suturing as required.
  • Advise students on preventive health measures.
  • Prescribe necessary medications.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and correspondence, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Contribute to relevant committees and initiatives.
  • Engage in strategic planning and health promotion across the campus.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid medical license in accordance with Florida Statutes, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Completion of a residency program may be considered in lieu of experience or as part of an equivalent educational background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in college health or a busy primary care outpatient setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to foster relationships with students and staff in a healthcare environment.
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution, with preference for candidates who have completed a three-year residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, and are Board Certified or Board Eligible in these specialties.

Department: Academic Health Sciences Center (AHSC) - Health Center Operations

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with hours between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM, including occasional Saturdays as needed.
