Position Overview:
The University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to deliver exceptional healthcare services to our student population. This role encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions while also providing essential psychological and counseling support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive medical care, including patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and therapy.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as necessary.
- Conduct minor surgical procedures and perform suturing.
- Advise students on preventive health measures.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with medical guidelines.
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Engage in committee participation and contribute to long-term health planning initiatives.
- Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with applicable laws.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold a valid medical license to practice in Florida as per Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Completion of a residency program may be considered in lieu of some experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in college health or a busy primary care outpatient setting is highly desirable.
- Possession of a Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a three-year residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, with Board Certification or eligibility is preferred.
