Position Overview: The Structured Products Investment Strategist will play a crucial role in delivering quantitative insights and strategic analysis to bolster the structured products investment team. This position will emphasize portfolio construction, asset allocation, and optimization strategies for structured products, including ABS, MBS, CLOs, and other securitized assets. The ideal candidate should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities, a comprehensive understanding of structured products, and expertise in quantitative methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quantitative analysis to support the structured products investment team, focusing on the evaluation and modeling of ABS, MBS, CLOs, and other securitized instruments.
  • Enhance and develop portfolio construction frameworks aimed at maximizing risk-adjusted returns for structured product portfolios.
  • Assist in formulating asset allocation strategies by examining market trends, pricing models, and performance metrics.
  • Conduct scenario analyses and stress tests to assess the effects of varying economic conditions on structured product portfolios.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to refine portfolio positioning and risk management strategies using advanced quantitative techniques.
  • Create tools and methodologies for performance attribution, risk assessment, and portfolio optimization.
  • Continuously observe structured product markets to identify potential risks, opportunities, and changing market dynamics.
  • Support the team in generating investment concepts by providing data-driven insights and modeling assistance for new structured product ventures.
  • Work in conjunction with risk management, operations, and other internal teams to ensure the precise and efficient execution of investment strategies.
  • Prepare detailed presentations and reports on portfolio performance, market forecasts, and investment suggestions for internal stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degrees (e.g., MS, MBA) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are advantageous.
  • 2-5 years of experience in structured products, quantitative analysis, or a comparable role within an asset management firm, investment bank, or hedge fund.
  • In-depth knowledge of structured products such as ABS, MBS, CLOs, and other securitized assets.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, portfolio optimization techniques, and quantitative tools, including Excel, Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
  • Strong grasp of portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk management, and performance attribution.
  • Proven ability to analyze extensive data sets and provide actionable insights for investment decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex quantitative concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with robust organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong collaborative abilities, with a dedication to teamwork and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
