Position Type: W2 (Visa Independent)

Role: Senior Quality Engineering Analyst / Team Lead in Capital Markets

Location: New York City, NY

Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with three days onsite from the start

Candidate Preference: Local candidates are preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a diverse QA team across North America, London, and India focusing on Equity Derivatives applications while ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Provide strategic direction and clarity to the QE team members.
  • Guarantee comprehensive testing of all regression and new functionalities during each release cycle.
  • Identify and address gaps in the existing QE regression test suite and processes.
  • Communicate regular updates to both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Assess testing priorities and objectives collaboratively with the team.
  • Determine the types of tests to be executed.
  • Develop test plans and strategy documents for various testing types.
  • Propose automation solutions for applications.
  • Create test cases and automation scripts as necessary.
  • Prepare requirement traceability matrices (RTM).
  • Execute tests according to the established plan.
  • Document test outcomes and log defects for any failures.
  • Map defects to corresponding test cases in the RTM.
  • Retest defect resolutions.
  • Track defects until closure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in IT and Testing within the Banking and Financial Services Industry (BFSI).
  • Strong domain expertise in Capital Markets, particularly in Derivatives (Bonds, Options, Futures, Swaps).
  • In-depth knowledge of Software Testing principles.
  • Experience with applications in Front and Middle Office operations.
  • Familiarity with at least one Trading Platform (e.g., Fidessa, Murex, ION).
  • Experience in testing BFSI applications with a solid understanding of the Trade Lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of FIX Protocol.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comprehension of user requirements and application functionalities through BRD, FSD, and user manuals.
  • Collaborate closely with Business and IT teams for test case reviews and deployments.
  • Proficient in Windows and SQL.
  • Expertise in defect management, including detailed articulation and tracking of defects.
  • Coordinate effectively with Project and Program managers through clear communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive project initiatives independently, managing activities based on project milestones.
  • Provide Testing, Technical, and Domain expertise to guide the team.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with QTest (Test Management tool) is highly desirable.
