We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Small Market Business Development Executive to join our team at Nationwide Private Client. In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable small commercial growth in designated territories by developing and managing assigned agencies.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven individual with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with agencies. As a Small Market Business Development Executive, you will lead profitable small commercial growth in the designated territory by developing and managing assigned agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor market conditions and competitive landscape to identify small commercial growth opportunities for the agencies.
  • Analyze quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepare reports to recommend action plans.
  • Communicate product, technology changes and company objectives to agencies and leadership.
  • Develop business solutions with agents and internal partners to drive maximum value of relationships.
  • Cultivate relationships that enhance value to the agency and Nationwide.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Seven years of progressively more responsible underwriting and sales experience in commercial business preferred.
  • Expertise in markets consistent with our underwriting appetite and product portfolio preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business concepts including financial pro forma, operating plans, goal setting, sales and marketing techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and sales skills.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision, life insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, nine paid holidays, 8 hours of Lifetime paid time off, 8 hours of Unity Day paid time off, 401(k) with company match, company-paid pension plan, business casual attire, and more.
