About the Role

nLIGHT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of our Hillsboro campus, which includes semiconductor and component assembly operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including the management of plant systems, maintenance and repair of equipment, and supervision of maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of our Hillsboro campus, including semiconductor and component assembly operations.
  • Plant Systems Management: Manage the operation of plant systems, including control systems and equipment.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, including cleanrooms, HVAC, Ultrapure/DI water, Fire/Life Safety Systems, Cryogenic and chemical delivery/waste systems.
  • Facilities Planning: Develop and implement facilities planning and general contracting of projects related to cleanrooms, HVAC, Ultrapure/DI water, Fire/Life Safety Systems, Cryogenic and chemical delivery/waste systems.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise one Facilities Technician, providing direction, ensuring appropriate training, delegating work, coordinating schedule, monitoring and assessing performance, and taking appropriate and timely corrective/disciplinary action in coordination with organizational leadership and HR, as appropriate.
  • Project Management: Forecasts and manages operational budget and schedule for facility modifications, and plans and coordinates with senior management, cross-functional internal and external teams to identify constraints, dependencies and risks regarding campus space allocation, equipment layout for continued growth.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to company safety policies and programs, and serves in a leadership role supporting and managing campus-wide safety.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of supervisor experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Skills: Lean Principles skills, knowledge of Facility Explorer monitoring system, experience managing projects including site modifications and expansions, strong leadership and relationship building skills, strong budgeting and cost management skills, ability to perform and mentor routine maintenance procedures on plant facilities systems, solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service, ability to communicate effectively with employees of various backgrounds, education, and national origin, ability to investigate and lead solutions to manufacturing constraint issues, strong analytical skills, ability to be ERT certified as part of Facilities Engineering team, ability to be a member of the safety committee team, advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
