Job Overview

The Security Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and company assets. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Security Department in the absence of higher management, while maintaining exemplary guest service and resolving conflicts effectively.

  • Foster a Service Culture that guarantees exceptional service delivery by all team members.
  • Direct and manage the daily operations of security personnel during assigned shifts.
  • Maintain accurate records related to performance, personnel, and operations.
  • Ensure the physical security of the facility and its assets.
  • Oversee the safety of guests and employees, recommending enhancements as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and collaborate with Human Resources as required.
  • Organize the rotation of security officers across various posts.
  • Provide training and development for security staff.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures throughout the shift.
  • May be required to operate company vehicles and equipment, necessitating a valid Driver's License.
  • Communicate essential information to security personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about all promotions and events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compliance Responsibilities:

Each team member is expected to comply with relevant laws and regulations, including:

  • Participating in mandatory training sessions provided by the company.
  • Obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses.
  • Executing duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring minors are prohibited from gambling or loitering in restricted areas.
  • Understanding ordinances, regulations, and policies pertinent to the department.
  • Being aware of programs addressing problem gaming.
  • Reporting any observed misconduct.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience in law enforcement, military, security, or customer service totaling three to five years, or actively pursuing a degree in a related field.
  • Successful completion of an internal training program.
  • Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow through on tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to remain composed in high-pressure situations, utilizing sound judgment.
  • A valid driver's license may be required with a clean driving record.
  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to walk, run, kneel, stretch, push, twist, bend, and lift.
  • Visual acuity for close-up tasks and overall situational awareness.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Certificates and Licenses: Virginia Racing Commission License and a valid Driver's License with a minimum of three years of driving experience.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to perform essential functions, which may include sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, using hands for tasks, reaching, climbing, and communicating effectively.
