Job Overview

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Colonial Downs Group LLC.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all patrons and staff within the gaming and hospitality environment.
  • Timely documentation of investigations and incident reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to guests as required.
  • Assist in the secure transfer of cash and gaming chips from the casino floor.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the casino and hotel premises during shifts to maintain safety standards.
  • Enforce compliance with casino regulations, policies, and guidelines established by the organization and relevant gaming authorities.
  • Maintain assigned posts for extended periods as directed by management.
  • Report daily activities and responsibilities to supervisors or managers.
  • Manage and de-escalate potential conflicts, providing assistance to employees and guests during emergencies.
  • Control access to restricted areas and video lottery facilities.
  • Respond promptly to backup calls as needed.
  • Operate a company vehicle, maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Compile reports detailing significant incidents and activities.
  • Maintain constant radio communication with the base throughout the shift.
  • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions. Verify identification for access to gaming areas, greeting guests and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ensure crowd control, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and addressing inappropriate behavior.
  • Conduct cash escorts as necessary.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare written reports, while monitoring and reporting any procedural violations or illegal activities.
  • May assume the role of Security Lead when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the aforementioned duties, each team member is responsible for adhering to laws and regulations.

  • Attend mandatory training sessions provided by the company.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure minors are prohibited from gambling, loitering in gaming areas, consuming alcohol, or purchasing tobacco products.
  • Possess knowledge of relevant ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures pertaining to the department.
  • Understand the property's initiatives addressing problem gaming.
  • Report any observed misconduct or violations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • One year of experience in law enforcement, military, security, or customer service, or currently pursuing a degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Successful completion of an internal training program.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and comprehend information in both spoken and written English.
  • Capability to prioritize and follow through on work assignments.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations, utilizing sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • A valid driver's license may be required, along with a good driving history.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: Virginia Racing Commission License

Valid Driver's License with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
