Security Officer

This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of gaming and entertainment guests and team members, as well as safeguarding the property.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional guest service and foster a positive environment for internal and external guests.
- Responsible for fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members.
- Attend daily briefings and meetings, and participate in a positive manner.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the department by following prescribed policies and procedures.
- Write clear and concise reports, noting only information based on facts.
- Respond to non-routine incidents, taking appropriate actions and making necessary notifications.
- Perform currency transports in accordance with gaming procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with other security personnel.
- Ensure quick, fair, and consistent results to customer complaints.
- Safeguard property assets and respond to First Aid situations.
- Adhere to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations.
- Ensure the integrity of gambling, banking, count room, and cash handling procedures.
- Handle confidential information, reports, incidents, and materials with discretion.
- Communicate effectively within the department and with senior management.
- Resolve problems within the scope of authority and recommend courses of action for issues beyond the scope.
- Keep the supervisor informed of relevant activities.
- Attend required training sessions and obtain necessary licenses.
- Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gaming areas.
- Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Formal security or law enforcement training, schooling, or certification is also required. Related on-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of formal training.
The ability to work in an environment exposed to secondhand smoke, moderate to loud noise levels, and varied light levels is necessary.
A Virginia Racing Commission License is required.
