Job Summary

The Counter Sales Representative is a key member of the Lampert Lumber team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Building Materials Specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, assisting with product selection, answering questions, and processing transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner, providing assistance with product selection, pricing, and promotions.
  • Sales Support: Process customer sales, receive payment, and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain expertise on building materials, applications, and related equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining stock levels, receiving inventory, and performing physical inventory counts.
  • Store Appearance: Maintain the showroom and store environment, including cleaning, dusting, and organizing products and displays.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Building material knowledge and sales experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs., frequently lifting up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lifting up to 100 lbs.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, requiring the ability to work a variety of schedules, including Saturdays and evenings. The physical demands of the job include standing for long periods, walking, and lifting. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced retail setting.
