Position Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in executing technical calculations necessary for the creation of mechanical deliverables. This includes:
- Defining project scope, including P&ID development and equipment selection.
- Gathering and presenting essential data and information.
- Conducting detailed engineering calculations.
- Preparing technical specifications and datasheets.
- Reviewing vendor drawings and calculations.
- Evaluating bids from vendors.
- Providing support in fieldwork, construction, and problem-solving activities.

Quality Assurance:
The Mechanical Engineer is accountable for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of engineering designs and reports.

Client Interaction:
The Mechanical Engineer should be adept at engaging with clients, visiting their facilities, and performing physical tasks such as walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Mechanical Discipline Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality and timely completion of engineering designs and reports.
- Interface effectively with clients and engage in physical work as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
- EIT Certification is preferred.
- An advanced degree or P.E. certification is advantageous.
- Active involvement in professional organizations is a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with boilers, pumps, exchangers, and pressure vessels.
- Experience in leading projects, including developing engineering schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in teams and present a positive image to clients.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including MS Project, and CAD software such as AutoCAD and 3-D CAD is beneficial.
- Proficient in mechanical engineering design tools and calculations (software: PV Elite, Compress, Navisworks, Caesar II, NozzlePro).

Industry Standards:
Working knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, and PIP is essential.

Physical Demands:
The physical requirements for this role include regular communication, frequent standing and walking, and the ability to use hands and reach with arms.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role with a standard workweek from Monday to Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary based on job demands.
