Position: Financial Operations Manager

Location: Belmont, NC

Hours: Monday-Friday

Pay: $110,000-$130,000/per year (Negotiable based on experience)

Position Overview

The Financial Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing the organization's general ledger and accounting functions. Reporting directly to the President, this role manages the accounting activities for the company, which generates over $12M in revenue. Responsibilities include processing journal entries, reconciling accounts, supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, as well as fulfilling additional reporting and accounting requests from management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate monthly financial statements, report packages, and financial presentations for the executive team.
  • Lead and manage a team of three responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations.
  • Ensure timely payments of accounts payable.
  • Facilitate prompt collection of accounts receivable.
  • Guarantee weekly payroll is processed accurately and on time.
  • Oversee annual audits, coordinating with external auditors.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and manage bank reconciliations.
  • Communicate findings and present results at monthly management meetings, utilizing both Navision and Excel.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and analyze expense and revenue accounts.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping and uphold internal controls.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Manage ACH and wire payment processes.
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office; experience with Navision software is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and working effectively in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Prior accounting experience in the construction or trades sector is highly desirable.
