Position Overview

Role Summary
The Clinical Nurse Leader is accountable for delivering direct patient care and supporting the management in daily operational tasks. This includes coordinating patient care and outcomes, managing human and financial resources, facilitating communication, overseeing patient throughput, and developing programs. The role also involves rounding with patients, physicians, and staff, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance the quality and efficiency of nursing practices and service delivery in collaboration with management.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and supervision of nursing staff.
- Facilitate regular communication among team members through meetings and huddles to promote information sharing.
- Work with management to ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and policies.
- Conduct rounds to assess patient care quality and satisfaction among patients, staff, and physicians.
- Delegate care responsibilities to appropriate healthcare personnel in accordance with legal and policy guidelines.
- Assist in establishing expected outcomes to guide continuity of care and departmental operations.
- Evaluate progress towards achieving goals and share relevant information with team members.
- Provide nursing care, assist with treatments and therapies, and administer medications as required.
- Manage patient flow and staffing by continuously assessing needs and utilizing available resources.
Physical Requirements
This position requires physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support weights of up to 35 pounds is necessary for handling patients and medical equipment. Proficiency in English is required, along with intact sensory abilities and finger dexterity. Critical thinking skills and the ability to maintain focus are essential.
Qualifications
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing and possess current RN licensure in the relevant state. A minimum of two years of nursing experience is preferred, along with prior management experience. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required. Registered Nurses without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire and complete it within three years. Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory, and appropriate professional certification is required within one year of eligibility.
