We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Converting Operations Manager to lead our Converting Department at Parkdale US Cotton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our converting equipment, as well as training and supervising a team of converting personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Converting Equipment Management: Lead the department in the operation and maintenance of converting equipment, ensuring optimal speeds and quality output.
  • Training and Development: Train, implement, and document safety, food safety, and quality requirements, as well as conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming products.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve converting processes, working with the Plant Manager to ensure highest throughput efficiency and proper manning schedules.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and train a team of converting personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Actively participate in the CAPA program, working with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure compliance with SQF requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in flexible packaging converting departments, including personnel and hands-on machine setups/modifications.
  • Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent required, with a bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make accurate decisions.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of pouch making and lamination, as well as principles of manufacturing, production, and quality controls.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 60 lbs., unassisted, as well as stand and move about the facility.
  • Environmental Factors: Frequently exposed to dust, loud noise, and fumes, as well as machinery and mechanical moving parts.
