Job Overview

The International Trade Finance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all financing operations are executed efficiently, in compliance with regulations, and effectively. The primary focus will be on enhancing cash flow, managing payment risks, currency exposure, and maintaining compliance with the support of our financial partners. A robust understanding of global trade dynamics, collaboration with counterparties, and insights into commodity and currency markets are critical for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the principal contact for all trade finance matters, including letters of credit, purchase agreements, and accounts receivable discounting.
  • Foster strong relationships with traders, operations, risk management, and legal teams through proactive communication.
  • Coordinate with banks and both local and international counterparts to ensure the timely processing of financial securities, payment receipts, and cargo deliveries.
  • Manage cash requirements through factoring or alternative debt financing methods.
  • Examine contract terms to ensure alignment with trade finance instrument specifications.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with banking partners through regular updates and communication.
  • Identify and cultivate new banking relationships to expand the company's financial portfolio.
  • Conduct credit assessments for international banking institutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address documentary discrepancies.
  • Contribute to the review of trade finance policies and procedures, including proposals for:

o Management regarding necessary systems for trade finance operations.

o Enhancements to existing in-house processes.

  • Introduce innovative ideas and trade finance products to optimize daily operations and improve departmental efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws in specific countries.
  • Prepare strategic and financial reports as needed.
  • Oversee trade finance-related models within the ERP system.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk control tests related to trade finance procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • A Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Experience in Trade Finance within the energy commodity trading or banking sectors is preferred.
  • CDCS Certification is highly regarded.
  • Strong technical and practical knowledge of UCP 600, ISP 98, and URR 525 is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English, particularly in reading and writing, is preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to manage extensive information.
  • A proactive approach, demonstrating agility and efficiency in a trading environment.
