Description

The Trade Finance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all financing operations are executed efficiently, in compliance with regulations, and in a timely manner. Key focus areas will include enhancing cash flow, reducing payment risks, managing currency exposure, and ensuring adherence to compliance standards with the support of our financial partners. A comprehensive understanding of international trade, collaboration with counterparties, and insights into global commodity and currency market dynamics are crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary contact for all trade finance-related inquiries and issues, including letters of credit, payment undertakings, and accounts receivable discounting.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with traders, operations, risk management, and legal teams, ensuring proactive communication across all departments.
  • Coordinate with banks and both local and international counterparts to guarantee the timely issuance and receipt of financial securities, payments, and cargo deliveries.
  • Manage cash requirements through factoring or alternative debt financing methods.
  • Review contract terms to ensure alignment with trade finance instrument requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance existing banking relationships through regular communication and updates, identifying areas for improvement and development.
  • Identify and cultivate new banking partnerships to expand the company's financial portfolio.
  • Conduct credit assessments for international banking institutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address documentary deficiencies effectively.
  • Contribute to the development and review of trade finance policies and procedures, including proposals for management regarding necessary systems and enhancements to current processes.
  • Innovate and implement new trade finance products to streamline operations and enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with specific country regulations and laws.
  • Prepare strategic and financial reports as needed.
  • Monitor trade finance-related models within the ERP system.
  • Conduct internal audits related to trade finance and perform risk control tests.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • A Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Trade Finance within an energy commodity trading or banking context.
  • CDCS Certification is strongly desired.
  • Proficient knowledge of UCP 600, ISP 98, and URR 525 is essential.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English, with the ability to read and write preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to manage extensive information.
  • A strong inclination towards proactive action in a trading environment.
