Regional Nurse Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Regional Nurse Consultant to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing 4-5 facilities in the Des Moines area, overseeing clinical practices, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the nursing departments for multiple facilities, working closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator at each facility.
  • Provide input on and support for the implementation of strong clinical systems that result in the highest quality of care.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance measurements and audits, and assist in improving medical management processes throughout the skilled nursing facilities and market.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for the facilities, monitoring monthly performance and intervening as needed.
  • Schedule and perform rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
  • Develop and implement the written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident and patient population.
  • Evaluate current and potential residents and patients to determine and maintain living center's ability to provide appropriate level of care.
  • Function as a clinical resource to the nursing administration team at each facility.
  • Provide training to staff nurses to promote performance improvement.
  • Support during the survey process, including pre-survey preparation and developing performance improvement plans post survey if necessary.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role, with a strong focus on Rehabilitation and Long Term Care.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or consulting role within a healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of clinical practices, procedures, and protocols within the field of Long Term Care and Rehabilitation.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to healthcare.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of healthcare professionals.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and excellence in clinical practice.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as required.
