Position Overview
The Washington National Tax (WNT) team at RSM is composed of distinguished tax professionals who meticulously track tax developments and interpret their implications for our clients. With a national presence and resources, our team remains at the forefront of tax policy changes. We regularly disseminate insights through articles, webcasts, and newsletters, collaborating closely with engagement teams and clients.
We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to enhance our expanding tax practice, specifically focusing on Federal Credits & Incentives with an emphasis on research and development. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to a high-performing tax practice. As a Tax Manager, your expertise in taxation will be essential in delivering compliance and consulting services within RSM's Washington National Tax office. You will engage with dynamic companies and enjoy significant growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Managers in our Washington National Tax practice will undertake the following:
- Consult with clients and client engagement teams to provide expert guidance.
- Generate thought leadership content, including alerts and articles.
- Engage with Treasury, IRS, and Capitol Hill to monitor and analyze developments.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- 5-7 years of recent public accounting experience.
- Experience with a Big 4 or a large national, regional, or local accounting firm.
- A valid CPA license or JD.
- Expertise in federal tax credits, particularly R&D credits.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex tax laws.
- Proficient research and technical writing abilities.
- Proficiency in technology tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in liaising with Treasury, IRS, and Capitol Hill.
- Ability to lead internal knowledge sharing and training initiatives.
- Skills in developing client service offerings and tools.
- A commitment to tax quality and client service excellence.
