Medical Office Coordinator

Position Overview:
In the realm of healthcare, exceptional service is paramount. The role of a professional who can adeptly follow medical directives while ensuring patient comfort is crucial.
As a Floating Receptionist (internally referred to as Medical Office Assistant), you will be pivotal in delivering consistent attention and meticulous care to each patient. Your responsibilities will include facilitating a seamless examination process and managing front desk operations to address all patient inquiries effectively.
This is a full-time position, requiring availability Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend shifts. The typical working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, subject to the needs of the medical staff. Compensation ranges from $18 to $19 per hour.
Travel to nearby clinics may be necessary, comprising up to 25% of your time. Compensation for travel time and mileage will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide patients to appropriate examination rooms, including vitals and x-ray areas as required.
- Verify patient information and ensure all necessary documentation is prepared for the examining physician.
- Assist in preparing patients for examinations by recording vital statistics such as height and weight.
- Provide chaperone services during examinations when requested or necessary.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, reporting any maintenance issues to management.
- Ensure a smooth flow of appointments to keep the schedule on track.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality by managing medical records securely.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding safety and legal practices.
- Perform clerical tasks including typing, filing, and proofreading as needed.
- Optimize the use of clinical resources and supplies.
- Engage in educational and training activities as required.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; experience in a medical office or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.
- Proficient in general office technology, including computers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, and telephones.
- Familiarity with various software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to follow instructions and respond accurately to management directives.
- Exhibit attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, ensuring clear and effective information exchange.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while managing time efficiently.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Reliability and adherence to attendance policies are crucial.
- Maintain a professional appearance in line with company standards.
