Job Title: Medical Records Specialist

Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with excellent customer service skills? We are seeking a Medical Records Specialist to join our team at ExamWorks.

Job Summary:

The Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for gathering and preparing examinee charts for use, sorting records, creating cover letters, updating client lists, and maintaining efficient document storage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and organize examinee charts for examinations and depositions purposes.
  • Responsible for sorting and maintaining electronic and/or hard copies of charts and/or medical report forms.
  • Finalize completed charts by confirming all records are included and consolidating charts as needed to ensure no duplicates or unnecessary documents are stored.
  • Prepare and ship records to physicians utilizing appropriate mailing sources (USPS, UPS, or Electronic) within required timeframes.
  • Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
  • Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
  • Protect examinee rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year clerical experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Must be able to adapt to a high-volume contact center environment.
  • Must have ability to be flexible within fast-paced dynamic environment.
