Position Overview:
The State of OK JD McCarty Center is seeking a skilled Mechanical Journeyman to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional care for children with developmental disabilities. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our young patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance, repairs, and installations of HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal functionality of equipment such as compressors, condensers, and control systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Building and Maintenance on system troubleshooting and upgrades, interpreting technical documents and schematics.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and document findings, including maintenance reports and recommendations for future services.
- Supervise and guide Construction/Maintenance Technicians and other staff, providing training on repair and installation techniques.
- Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and assist in project estimations for renovations or replacements.
- Evaluate bids and specifications to ensure compliance with standards.
- Operate all equipment following manufacturer guidelines and maintain safety protocols during all tasks.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Director, ensuring departmental needs are met efficiently.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in building trades, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to train and lead teams effectively while performing independent work.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to foster positive working relationships.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience in skilled trades or maintenance, including supervisory experience.
- Active licensure as a Mechanical Journeyman with the appropriate regulatory board.

Physical Requirements:
- Capability to stand, walk, lift, and climb as needed for the role.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to provide professional references and immunization records.
