Position Overview:
The State of OK JD McCarty Center is seeking a skilled Mechanical Journeyman to maintain and enhance our facility's mechanical systems. This role is essential in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our pediatric patients with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, and control systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Building and Maintenance on troubleshooting and system upgrades.
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide maintenance tasks.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and document findings, including supplies used and future service recommendations.
- Supervise and train Construction/Maintenance Technicians and other staff on repair and installation techniques.
- Inspect facilities to assess maintenance needs and assist in project planning and cost estimation.
- Evaluate bids and specifications to ensure compliance with standards.
- Operate equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and adhere to safety protocols.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Building and Maintenance.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of building trades, including construction, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
- Proven ability to perform independent work and effectively communicate with team members.
- Active licensure as a Mechanical Journeyman with relevant experience in the field.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in climbing ladders and stairs.
