Position Overview:


The HVAC Model Fabrication Specialist will be an integral part of the Engineering Lab team within the Unitary Products Group (UPG) at Johnson Controls.

This division is dedicated to the design, testing, manufacturing, and assembly of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems tailored for light commercial and residential applications.

As part of the UPG division, the Engineering Lab operates in a controlled environment focused on innovation and quality, ensuring optimal performance of HVAC products.


Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate components from sheet metal and copper according to engineering specifications.
- Operate and maintain various fabrication machinery, including Press Brake and Amada.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Conduct thorough quality control inspections to guarantee compliance with established standards.
- Perform necessary repairs and modifications on existing components.
- Adhere to safety protocols, conduct regular audits, and maintain a tidy workspace.
- Undertake additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, complemented by vocational training in Sheet Metal Fabrication.
- Proven experience and expertise in sheet metal fabrication, ideally within the HVAC sector or similar fields.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and fabrication equipment, with the ability to operate a forklift.
- Capable of lifting equipment and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in MS Office and general computer applications.
- Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Competent in performing basic mathematical calculations, including percentages and geometric calculations.
