Accounting Professional

CDH CPA, PLLC is in search of a meticulous and experienced Staff Accountant with proficiency in Japanese to enhance our accounting division. This is a full-time, hourly role. The Staff Accountant will be tasked with the preparation and assembly of financial statements for our diverse clientele, in addition to supporting clients with various accounting needs that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial statements, maintain general ledgers, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheets and income statements.
- Establish and uphold records of client financial transactions.
- Generate financial reports for client management, including analyses of cash flow, revenue, and expenditures, as well as accounts payable and receivable.
- Support clients during month-end closing processes.
- Oversee cash management, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Maintain inventory records and execute comprehensive bookkeeping tasks.
- Verify entries, postings, and documents for accuracy, mathematical correctness, and appropriate coding.
- Adhere to federal, state, and organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct financial calculations, including amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
- Possess a solid understanding of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Recognize the implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Assess how a client's system should function and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will influence outcomes.
- Foster relationships with clients to ensure efficient information flow between the client and the team.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, ProFx, QuickBooks, Sage 50, and Sage Intact regularly.
- Achieve CPA certification.
- Enhance oral and written communication skills while setting specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish tasks.
- Build and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships over time.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.
- Continuously expand knowledge in the area of expertise.
- Engage in proactive career development through mentoring opportunities.
- Contribute to recruitment efforts as necessary.
- Represent the firm in alignment with our core values and Five Star philosophy.
- Continue to develop advanced Excel skills.
- Learn to give and receive constructive feedback effectively.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Current CPA license is advantageous.
- 1+ years of public accounting experience or 3+ years of industry experience.
- Experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel to client locations occasionally within the firm's market area.
