Position Summary:

The Senior Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and comprehensive analysis. This position is essential for maintaining precise financial records, adhering to regulatory standards, and preparing in-depth financial statements while actively engaging in the overall accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial documents, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and the creation of adjusting journal entries.
  • Develop and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect company assets and guarantee compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and regulatory assessments.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify discrepancies, opportunities, and risks, providing insights to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department leaders to formulate financial strategies and track performance against objectives.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring timely compliance and implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting or finance roles, with a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience, including supervisory duties.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Excel, Power BI).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation.
  • Experience with IFS and Adaptive (A Workday Product).
  • Background in union environments.
  • General experience within the construction sector.
  • Experience with progressive revenue recognition is highly desirable.
  • Preference for candidates on Pacific Standard Time (PST) to support primarily West Coast operations, though remote candidates from other regions are welcome.
