About Amazon

Amazon is dedicated to being the most customer-focused organization where customers can discover and purchase virtually anything online. By providing customers with what they desire—competitive pricing, extensive selection, and convenience—Amazon continues to expand and innovate as a premier e-commerce platform.

Role Overview

In alignment with this growth, the Amazon Finance Operations (FinOps) objective is to deliver efficient procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and payroll processes that support Amazon's ongoing global expansion. We are seeking a Customer-Centric, Results-Oriented Portfolio Manager to be part of our global FinOps Program Management Office (PMO).

This is not a conventional role; it presents an opportunity to significantly impact a rapidly growing environment. You will lead a portfolio of programs, projects, and key improvement initiatives, ensuring high-value and quality delivery across the portfolio. This position offers a hands-on experience in an area that influences every facet of Amazon's diverse business operations worldwide.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, you should be adept at transitioning between broad and detailed perspectives, as well as strategic and tactical tasks. A natural analytical mindset is essential, allowing you to delve deeply into problems, products, and processes while articulating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Furthermore, you should possess a proven ability to learn swiftly, distill intricate scenarios into clear summaries, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Amazon's products, business models, financial systems architecture, and financial operations within a regulatory framework.
  • Manage vital relationships with internal and external business and technology partners.
  • Ensure transparency, alignment, and effective communication of strategic programs and their resource implications across the portfolio to key stakeholders.
  • Establish regular communication channels regarding portfolio progress and challenges, leading prioritization discussions on necessary adjustments.
  • Facilitate goal alignment with portfolio stakeholders and PMO leaders.
  • Deliver standardized, scalable, and automated solutions to ensure the PMO is executing the right projects at the right time with the appropriate resources.
  • Prioritize project requests within the portfolio and drive end-to-end process enhancements that foster growth and yield cost efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • Proficient in utilizing data and metrics to identify and drive improvements.
  • Experience in owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and effectively communicating results to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in driving process improvements.
  • Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or a related field.

Diversity and Inclusion

Amazon is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or any other legally protected status.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is influenced by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
